International black metal quartet Depths Above reached an agreement with Avantgarde Music to re-release debut album Ex Nihilo, while completing the works on sophomore album.
The band, located in Brno (CZ) but formed by musicians of diverse origin, released Ex Nihilo as a self-production on a limited CD run in 2018, and is now hard at work on its successor. Ex Nihilo is one of the most underrated and overlooked albums among the many gems of the extreme metal underground, and here at Avantgarde Music we are glad to say that we will take care of bringing it to a proper wax version for the first time ever, as well as distributing it worldwide.
Depths Above consists of frontman Vama Marga on guitars and vocals (and art – this is the very same Vama Marga who painted Ad Nauseam’s Imperative Imperceptible Impulse artwork), Dreamancer on guitars, Sarapis on drums (The Book, ex-Inferno) and Tele on bass.
Ex Nihilo is currently being mastered for vinyl by Gabriele Gramaglia (Cosmic Putrefaction, Vertebra Atlantis) and will soon be available for preorder, while its successor will see the light in late 2022 / early 2023. You can listen to its digital version on Depths Above Bandcamp page.
