While waiting for the release of their awaited sophomore album Arde, to be released in 2023, Spanish doom/post-metal act Ikarie recorded and released a videoclip for “Something in the way”, the renowned Nirvana hit from their 1991 masterwork Nevermind. Following is the full statement from the band, and you can listen to the song hereunder.
“Writing a poem is not so very different from digging a hole.
It is work. You try to learn what you can from other holes
and the people who dug before you. The difficulty comes from
people who do not dig or spend time in holes thinking that
the holes ought not to be so wet, or dark, or full of worms.

Sometimes a bad streak is enough, growing up in the wrong place or being too poor to be unlucky enough not to have a bit of luck, but if you don’t have money to get you through to the next day everything is much more expensive. In less than a week you will stop looking human and by the time a month has passed you will think so too, that you were right and that you are definitely less, much less than the others. You will have to turn off all the dreams that you left on while you sleep under the lights of any city.
This is what this cover means to us. We chose it because we thought it was the perfect Christmas carol for this time of year.
