Following their 2021 debut De Rerum Natura, Italian atmospheric/melodic black metal duo Eard is back with their sophomore album, Melancholia.
Eard pays homage to Anglo-Saxon poetry, such homage beginning with the very name of the band, the Old English word used to describe the concept of earth, land and home. Melancholia tells tales of misty lands of old and ancient voyages across the seas, and its haunting melodies will pierce through the greyness of everyday life.
The first single, “A Hymn To The Earth”, features guest vocals by Andy Marshall (Saor, Fuath) and Sara Tacchetto (Vallorch) is now available for streaming on Bandcamp and via YouTube. Melancholia will be out via Avantgarde Music on November 29th on CD, LP and digital.
