Ukrainian one-man atmospheric black metal band Severoth is back with a new studio album, Waves. Two years after By The Way Of Light, Illia Rafalskyi is ready to release a new opus, the seventh album under the banner of his solo project.
This is how Severoth himself describes his latest work: “The concept of this album came to me in 2023, while sitting on a black beach near Grettislaug in Iceland. Surrounded by the Great Ocean, beneath the Wind and the restless Waves, I reflected on their nature. Each wave carries its own purpose, its own cycle, with a beginning and an end. The same is true for people. We are the Waves in the endless Ocean of Life.
Sometimes I find myself returning to those shores in my mind, hearing the endless waves and swimming with them into the unknown…”
Severoth new studio album will be out via Avantgarde Music on September 4th, 2026. “Stars Will Show The Way” is the first single from Waves, the 7th record from the Ukrainian one-man atmospheric black metal band.
