NEL BUIO have completed the recordings of their highly anticipated debut, self-titled studio album, which will once again be released through Avantgarde Music. With their style defined as “pure Italian blackwave” — a fusion of black metal and darkwave — NEL BUIO narrate a tragedy in two acts, where the music evolves alongside the listener’s reading of the lyrics, as if it were a soundtrack.
As with their previous EP, the song titles themselves compose a poem which, in verse, tells the concept of the record:
Un tempo…
splendeva di vita,
sguardo innocente,
col cuore puro.
Oramai…
il buio l’avvolge,
non v’è più lacrima,
eppure perdona.
The track “Oramai…” was composed and entirely performed by Ville Pallonen, Finnish musician known for his work with Vargrav, Azaghal, Druadan Forest, Olio Tahtien Takana, Dim Lights, and Destro. His contribution enhances the retro ’80s synth atmosphere and opens the second act of the concept.
The official artwork is once again by frontman and tattoo artist Clod the Ripper, who describes it as “An image that visually embodies the addiction to tragedy and foreshadows the abyss from which the album takes shape. An all-too-trivial emotional damnation, which we have been witnessing since the dawn of time.”
NEL BUIO studio album will be unveiled on December 13, when it will be premiered on the Milan stage of the Black Winter Festival, alongside bands such as Taake and Tsjuder.

NEL BUIO is:
Ripper – vocals/bass
Neil – guitars
Vellacifer – drums
