Spanish blackened death metal quartet Akouphenom is about to release their new EP, Connections To The Erebus, through Avantgarde Music’s death metal division, Unorthodox Emanations. This release marks a significant addition to the band’s discography, following their 2023 debut album, Death·Chaos·Void.
Formed in 2014 in A Coruña, Spain, Akouphenom is known for their fusion of blackened death metal with elements of doom and noise, aiming to reflect absolute evil in their creations. The band’s name is a twist on the word “tinnitus,” referencing the auditory consequences of their intense live performances. The current lineup includes DraGon (vocals and guitars), Garmr (guitars), Korgüll (bass and vocals), and Prgich (drums).
Coming from the same composition and recording sessions of Death·Chaos·Void, these new four-tracks EP continues Akouphenom‘s exploration of dark themes and complex compositions, further establishing their presence in the extreme metal scene.
Mixed and mastered by Simon Da Silva at The Empty Hall Studio in Madrid, with an illustration made by Prgich himself, Connections To The Erebus will be out via Unorthodox Emanations on July 7th on CD and digital.
