Chrome Waves was formed in Chicago, IL, in the summer of 2010 by current and former members of Nachtmystium, The Gates of Slumber, The Atlas Moth, and Twilight. Their debut album A Grief Observed came only in 2019, after nine years and several lineup changes, and was welcomed as one of the most interesting post-black metal releases of the year.
